Brady, former President Reagan’s press secretary died:What about Hinckley, who shot Brady and Reagan?

James Brady was one of four people hurt in Reagan’s shooting by John Hinckley outside a Washington hotel.

He was shot in the head and left paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

According to his family’s statement on Monday,Brady died at 73,after a series of health issues. “Over the years, Jim inspired so many people as he turned
adversity into accomplishment,” the statement says.

He inspired the Brady Bill, which was fiercely fought over for years before Congress approved it and President Bill Clinton signed it into law in 1993.

It requires background checks for gun purchases. It’s called gun-control law in Japan and most of us welcomed it. We admired Brady’s efforts.

After I’ve known Brady’s death in the CNN news,I found an article on John Hinckley Jr. in the USA TODAY.

Now he is 59,and he remains confined to St. Elizabeths Hospital in Washington,D.C., where he was sent in 1982 after being found not guilty

by reason of insanity.

A case caused by a mentally disabled person may be a big problem around the world.

In most cases,he/she may be judged not guilty and certifiable compulsory hospitalization in Japan.

The problem is that feelings of victims and their families will never admit this situation.

Are there any good solutions for this?
