Ebola already killed more than 4,000 people:Can human-beings win Ebola?

“We either stop Ebola now or we face an entirely unprecedented situation,” said an emergency response official in Liberia.

Other officials predicted:”New Ebola cases may soon reach 10,000 a week.”

According to the New York Times, the cases have raised urgent questions about the risks of the disease’s spreading even in developed countries, particularly among health care workers, and the role that the smallest of human errors may play in subverting elaborate safety measures.

As you may know, the infection of a Spanish nurse was the first case of the disease’s being transmitted outside Africa.

Also,a nurse in the US was given an Ebola diagnosis after caring for a patient in the hospital in Dallas.

The Spanish nurse contracted Ebola while treating a missionary who died in a Madrid Hospital.

Both of the nurses had been wearing protective gear, which can pose extreme risks of infection if removed improperly. Officials are investigating whether the Spanish nurse may have carelessly touched her face while taking her suit off.

A team of European Union investigators has found fault in the layout of the Ebola ward:nurses were forced to remove their gear in a very small space, with limited room to maneuver, even as temperatures rose quickly inside the suit.

So the nurses are sweating more and anxious to get it off quickly.

Talking about the measures for Ebola in Japan, there is concern about how to diagnose Ebola patients.

One of the Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry officers says “We can only determine whether the case is infected Ebola or not, as it now stands.”

Unfortunately, even if a doubtful case of Ebola is found, the framwork of checking the viruses is not laid out.

We have top-level facilities which can handle high risk viruses, but cannot run them because of not gaining the consent of the local residents.

Ebola will never stop invasion unless we do something to prevent it.
